Softrak Adagio: The ACCPAC Plus Upgrade
ACCPAC Plus users plodding along in DOS now have an upgrade path to Windows - it's called Softrak Adagio. Adagio is a true Windows application that runs in Windows XP, 2000 and even Windows 98. Adagio follows the same menu structure as ACCPAC Plus so there is no re-learning required. Adagio also shares the same database as ACCPAC Plus so there is no need for a full data conversion.
Running in a Windows environment has its advantages including a consistent interface and menu structure; ability to print to all Windows printers including colour lasers; presentation quality financial statements; and the ability to use the mouse to select fields.
Adagio is so flexible that you can be working in ACCPAC Plus one day and be converted and running with Adagio the next. It's that easy! With Adagio you have the flexibility to convert some applications to Windows while other users are still using DOS. This reduces the learning curve substantially.
Adagio runs in either standalone or multiuser mode with Lanpaks. It can be accessed over the internet using Terminal Services in a Windows 2000 or 2003 environment.
Softrak Adagio has been around for over 5 years and is now a fairly mature product with a large user install base. There are Window versions of every ACCPAC Plus module including multi-currency, job costing and purchase orders. Current Softrak modules include General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Order Entry, Inventory Control, Job Costing, Bank Reconcillation, Invoicing, and Gridview (reporting module). In almost every instance, Adagio has improved on the original ACCPAC Plus product providing added functionality and reporting, Adagio has also kept data entry as fast and easy as possible; all data entry screens can be entered and saved without having to take your hands off the keyboard!
The most recent versions of Adagio have added a number of interesting features. In the General Ledger, departmental reporting has been substantially improved allowing departments to be aggregated and reported in separate columns on financial statements. The Accounts Payable now allows invoices to be paid electronically using EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) and Accounts Receivable invoices can be faxed or emailed to clients.
Overall Softrak Adagio is an excellent piece of accounting software with customizable and flexible reporting. It is definitely worth consideration if you are moving to Windows from ACCPAC Plus. Additional information can be found on the Softrak website at http://www.softrak.com
